Rotating the character itself is also not good enough for two reasons, one is that it's limited to the X axis, the other is that the player moves a bit around it's own X axis which changes the angle enough to screw the final result. With normal camera, even though you can make Ryo invisible and make it look as an FPS view, the camera rotation is limited to something like 180º and besides the camera zooms in when reaching it's limits. The other issue with this camera mode is when you point the camera towards the ground it starts zooming in much further than on other angles.

For one it zooms in and locks onto objects of interest (none on this angle fortunately). The most useful camera mode is zoom mode but it has a few issues of it's own.

Nevertheless, here's one test that didn't turn out as disastrous as the previous ones: It turns out that it is much harder to accomplish than in most 3D games, where you can control the camera steadily.

This means you can export a standard video that can show your panorama in multiple projections.I'm playing around with panorama software and thought it would be interesting to try and stitch together Shenmue panoramas. We call this a Fly-in effect.Īnother thing you can do with this option is transition to and from different projections in the Animation output. You can, for instance, open or start a panorama from a little planet that transitions to the rectilinear projection. The main addition to 5.1 is the ability to view and change projections in the Viewer and the Animation Editor. Projections in Viewer and Animation Editor We’ve done a lot since October 2016, so if you haven’t been keeping up with the beta updates then keep reading. We’ve been in beta for long enough and today we are happy to bring you Pano2VR 5.1 - without the beta. We are also introducing Pano2VR 5.2 beta that includes a Google Street View Export.

Pano2VR 5.1 is out of beta! Download - Videos Today, we have released Pano2VR 5.1 and Pano2VR 5.2 beta. Needless to say, we’ve been busy and we have a lot of news to share. One panorama, The Sound Studio, uses pinned video, aligned video and directional sound. So, if you’re looking to include aligned video in your tours, take the time to test it out. Lauri brought up a few good points here - to remember to plan the videos for looping and that aligning video can be challenging. So next time I shoot videos for this kind of work, I will remember to carefully plan the movements of people so the video will be perfectly loop-able. Well it almost did, because later I found out that the movements did not loop so well and the videos were shot with an angle that was almost too wide to stitch. I did not make any tests implementing the video inside panoramas - I just hoped my experience would not fail me. You can also see excellent examples of aligned video, too, of which Lauri explains:įrom a technical point of view the most challenging part in creating this tour was the pinned and aligned videos - simply because I had not used this technique before. The opening aerial view was shot using a DJI Inspire 1 (with Zenmuse X3) with a total of 21 exposure bracketed images. VR TOURVIEWER: ENJOY VIRTUAL TOURS MADE WITH PANO2VR GET STARTED FEATURES LIVE. In 4 panoramas you can see pinned and aligned video (movement inside the photo). Gear VR games like Blazerush, Thumper, and Witchblood could never run on. The virtual tour of Tallinn University consists of 30 equirectangular panoramas. I reached out to Lauri to ask him to provide a little info about the project:
